Ioannis qualified from the Dental School of Athens and after that spent three years working at the Military Hospital of Athens and in a private practice. During this time, he developed a keen interest in prosthodontics and implant dentistry.

In 2018 he completed his 3-year Prosthodontic training at the Royal London Dental Hospital, and was awarded his DClinDent degree from Queen Mary University of London with a Distinction Grade. He also completed the M Pros Examination and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

He is a GDC registered Specialist in Prosthodontics and has a position as Clinical Lecturer in Prosthodontics at Queen Mary University of London, supervising and teaching dentists who are training to become specialists. He is also currently involved in teaching newly qualified dentists as part of their Dental Foundation scheme.

He attends national and international congresses regularly, keeping up to date with the latest evidence in Prosthodontics. He has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and has been awarded several prizes, including the British Society of Prosthodontics Oral Presentation Prize. He is an active member of the International Team for Implantology and the British Society of Prosthodontics.
